Over the past few years, there’s been a great deal of emphasis on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and using it as a “silver bullet” to drive traffic to your website.  Clients will frequently come to us for optimization services with the idea that afterwards they will see a huge traffic spike and products will fly off the shelves.  While SEO is certainly the cornerstone of any successful internet marketing strategy, it is not quite the “silver bullet” the industry makes it out to be.  To understand why, there’s a little history involved.
